Brevard Deputy Fired After Second DUI Arrest

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A second DUI arrest has ended Brittany Rowland’s employment with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, years after an earlier impaired-driving case resulted in a conviction.

Maitland police arrested Rowland in Orange County on September 7, 2026. The Sheriff’s Office subsequently confirmed her termination.

The reported arrest allegations include bloodshot eyes, an odor of alcohol and refusal to submit to a breath test. While in custody, Rowland allegedly slipped one hand out of a handcuff and threatened an officer’s career.

Rowland’s previous DUI arrest occurred in 2018 while she worked for the agency. That case resulted in a conviction and suspension without pay.

The September arrest is a new criminal allegation, not a second confirmed conviction. Rowland is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
