About
Independent Central Florida reporting
CFL Report is an independent digital local-news publication covering breaking news, public safety, local government, traffic, weather and community stories across Central Florida. Coverage currently emphasizes Volusia County communities while following regional stories that affect Central Florida readers.
What the newsroom does
The CFL Report Newsroom gathers and verifies information from original photographs and video, on-scene observations, public records, interviews, official statements and other attributable sources. Social-media posts and eyewitness accounts can be useful leads, but they are not treated as final confirmation on their own.
Articles identify what is known, explain where the information came from and separate confirmed facts from preliminary reports. When a government agency or another news organization supplies a fact, the article attributes and links to that source whenever practical. Developing stories are updated as reliable information becomes available.
About the CFL Report Newsroom byline
CFL Report Newsroom is the publication’s organizational byline. It is used when a report combines newsroom research, original CFL Report media, public documents or contributions from more than one person. The byline links to this page so readers can see the standards and contact information behind the work. Individual contributors may receive a personal byline when appropriate.
Editorial independence and funding
CFL Report controls its editorial decisions independently. The site may be supported by advertising or clearly labeled sponsorships, but advertisers do not choose, preview or approve news coverage. Paid material is kept separate from independent reporting. Additional details appear in the Advertising & Sponsorship Policy.
