Strong Thunderstorm Brings Downed Tree to Daytona Beach–Port Orange Area

DAYTONA BEACH/PORT ORANGE, Fla. — A strong thunderstorm moved across east-central Volusia County on July 26, prompting a National Weather Service statement and leaving at least one large tree down in footage gathered by CFL Report.

At 2:32 p.m., National Weather Service radar tracked the storm over Port Orange as it moved east at approximately 20 mph. Forecasters warned of wind gusts as high as 50 mph and said Daytona Beach, Port Orange, South Daytona, New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater were among the locations in its path.

CFL Report footage posted later that afternoon shows a large tree blocking a residential street while a crew works nearby. The exact street shown in the footage has not been independently confirmed, so the image is not attributed to a specific neighborhood or city.
