Repaving Work Changes Access at Port Orange’s Causeway Park

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Construction continued at Causeway Park in early August as part of the city’s ongoing renovation of the boat ramps and parking areas. CFL Report images from Aug. 7 show barriers, pavement markings and other construction activity on the west side of the park near Dunlawton Avenue.

The City of Port Orange previously announced that the main fishing pier, pavilion, restrooms and single-car parking area would close from July 29 through Aug. 7 for repaving. The north boat ramp and north T-shaped fishing pier were scheduled to remain open during that phase.

The broader project began Jan. 20 and includes boat-ramp renovations, parking-lot resurfacing and restriping, and accessibility improvements. The city’s project page listed completion for the middle of August.

CFL Report’s original Facebook post described benches and tables on the west side as removed. The city’s published project updates do not say whether that furniture was permanently removed or temporarily moved for construction, so that detail remains unconfirmed.
